I love traveling. My greatest adventure so far was a motorcycle ride from my hometown of Adelmannsfelden in Southwest Germany to Cape Town in South Africa. I covered a total of approximately 13,000 km, crossing through twelve countries: Germany, Austria, Italy, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, and South Africa. If you are interested, you can find a brief report, with videos, here. A longer report, in nine parts, starts here.
To date, I have had the privilege to visit 44 countries, and the disputed territory of Western Sahara.
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness and many of our people need it sorely on those accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”
Mark Twain, The Innocents Abroad, 1869
